Why we built this
The idea behind FinalKeepSake started from a simple observation: when someone dies, their family doesn't just lose a person. They lose a guide. The person who knew where everything was, what they wanted, who to call, what accounts existed.
Most families piece this together in the days and weeks after a death — calling banks, searching drawers, arguing about what their loved one would have wanted. Billions of dollars in assets go unclaimed every year, often because families didn't know they existed.
FinalKeepSake is the answer to that problem. It's a private, secure place to organize everything your family will need — documents, final wishes, letters, medical instructions, digital accounts — and to package it in a way they can actually use when the time comes.

Your documents are stored in private, encrypted cloud storage. Access codes are hashed — we cannot read your codes, and neither can our support staff. We never use your personal information or documents to train AI models. Our AI writing features use inputs you provide for that session only. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting hello@finalkeepsake.com.

What exactly is FinalKeepSake?
FinalKeepSake is a secure digital legacy platform. It gives you one private place to organize your important documents, final wishes, personal letters, and AI-assisted obituary and eulogy drafts — then packages everything into a Legacy Handoff your family can access when they need it. It's designed to eliminate the confusion and chaos families typically face in the days after a death.
Who is FinalKeepSake for?
FinalKeepSake is for anyone who wants to spare their family a difficult, disorganized process. Most of our users are adults aged 35–70 who've either witnessed the chaos of an unorganized estate or are proactively planning for their own family's future. You don't need to be elderly or ill to benefit — the best time to organize is before anything changes.
Is FinalKeepSake a replacement for a will or an estate attorney?
No. FinalKeepSake is a secure organizational tool, not a legal service. We help you store the location of your will, organize your documents, and communicate your wishes to your family — but we don't draft legal documents or provide legal advice. We strongly encourage working with an estate attorney for wills, trusts, and powers of attorney. FinalKeepSake and legal planning work together: legal documents handle what happens to your assets; FinalKeepSake makes sure your family can actually find and use them.
How does my family access my information when the time comes?
You invite trusted contacts and generate a private access code for each one. When the time comes, they enter their access code to receive your Legacy Handoff — the PDF summary, organized documents, AI-drafted obituary and eulogy, and any final messages you've written. Nothing is emailed automatically; access is initiated by the person you've invited, using the code you've shared with them.
Is my information private and secure?
Yes. Files are encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. Your vault is private by default — not indexed by search engines and not accessible without your credentials or a valid access code. We never use your personal information or documents to train AI models. Access codes are stored as hashed values; our staff cannot read them. You can request deletion of your account and all data at any time.
